Made in USA & Material Sourcing (Buy American Act Compliance)

Policy Information Current as of May 18, 2025

Proudly Manufactured in the USA: At Vandal Stop Products, we are committed to American manufacturing. All of our products are designed, engineered, and handcrafted with precision and care in our facilities located in the USA.

Standard Material Sourcing (General): For our standard production, various components and materials are used.

  • Stainless Steel: The high-quality stainless steel in our products may be sourced from reputable domestic (USA) and/or international suppliers. This approach allows us to manage availability and provide competitive pricing. Unless specifically requested and quoted for Buy American Act compliance, our products will be made with our standard stainless steel, which may include globally-sourced content.
  • Information on other specific components is detailed below, particularly in relation to Buy American Act considerations.

Buy American Act Compliance & Specific Component Sourcing

We understand that certain projects, particularly those involving government funding or specific contractual obligations, require strict adherence to the Buy American Act. This can mandate that the end product, including its various components, meets specific domestic sourcing requirements.

Vandal Stop Products can work with you to meet Buy American Act requirements, which often involves a detailed review of component sourcing.

1. 100% USA-Sourced Stainless Steel

A primary focus for Buy American Act compliance is often the origin of the steel. We can accommodate requests for products made with 100% USA-sourced stainless steel.

If your project requires 100% USA-sourced stainless steel, please note:

  • Mandatory Prior Contact: You MUST contact Vandal Stop Products to discuss this requirement and obtain a specific quotation before placing your order.
  • Custom Quotation: We will provide a tailored quote based on the current market pricing and availability of 100% USA-sourced stainless steel. This typically involves additional costs.
  • Potential for Extended Lead Times: Securing exclusively USA-sourced stainless steel may require additional production time.

2. Sourcing Considerations for Other Key Components

For comprehensive Buy American Act compliance that extends beyond just the steel, the sourcing of other components is also critical:

  • Cylinder Key Locks: Our standard cylinder key locks are currently sourced from Canada. If your project requires USA-sourced locks for strict Buy American Act compliance, this must be specifically discussed with us prior to ordering. We can then explore availability, potential cost implications, and any impact on lead times for USA-sourced alternatives, if available.
  • Electronic Components: Products incorporating electronics (e.g., automatic soap dispensers, automatic paper towel dispensers, sensor-operated fixtures) utilize components from specialized manufacturers. These electronic assemblies often have complex global supply chains. While the final product assembly by Vandal Stop Products is done in the USA, the origin of every sub-component within these electronics is determined by their respective manufacturers, and detailed traceability for Buy American Act compliance for these specific electronic parts may be challenging or not fully available through us. This is a common issue for many products incorporating advanced electronics.

It is crucial that if your project requires overall Buy American Act compliance for the entire finished product (including all components like locks and electronics, not just the stainless steel), this must be explicitly stated and discussed in detail with us during the quotation process to assess feasibility and any limitations.

Material Certification Letters for 100% USA-Sourced Steel

For orders confirmed and quoted as requiring 100% USA-sourced steel for Buy American Act purposes, material certification letters for the steel content can be provided.

  • Request at Time of Order: It is imperative that material certification letters for steel are explicitly requested at the time your order is placed and confirmed as part of your Buy American Act compliant project.
  • CRITICAL COMPLIANCE NOTICE: Failure to clearly specify the need for Buy American Act compliance (detailing requirements for 100% USA-sourced steel, and addressing other key components like locks and electronics if full end-product compliance is needed) AND to formally request necessary material certification letters at the time of ordering and quotation may result in your products being manufactured using our standard materials. Standard materials, as described above, may include globally-sourced content for steel and other components (like Canadian-sourced locks or globally-sourced electronics). Products made with such standard materials will not meet the stringent requirements of the Buy American Act if full domestic sourcing for all parts was an unstated assumption. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure all specific compliance requirements for all desired components are clearly communicated, quoted, and confirmed in writing with Vandal Stop Products prior to production.

We are dedicated to transparency and helping you meet your project's specific needs. Please contact us directly to discuss any domestic material sourcing or Buy American Act compliance requirements for your upcoming projects.
