Warranty Information & Definitions

Vandal Stop Products is proud of the rugged durability and reliability of our products. All products containing “VSP” or “AA” in the SKU are covered under this warranty unless otherwise noted. Products from other manufacturers are covered by their respective manufacturers’ warranties.

Defining Our Protection Levels

To help you choose the right product for your environment, we classify our products into three distinct tiers. The warranty coverage is specific to each level and depends on the product's construction and the nature of an attack.

Vandal Proof

This is our highest level of security, designed for the roughest conditions such as Public Parks, Jails, Homeless Shelters, Schools, or any location dealing with populations that may actively seek to compromise the units.

• Construction: 12-Gauge Stainless Steel.
• Locking System: Requires a protected padlock or hitch lock where the shackle is shielded from easy access by bolt cutters.
• Warranty Coverage: Includes a 10-year Anti-Vandalism Warranty that specifically protects against vandals attempting to compromise the unit through the use of their hands or basic hand tools like screwdrivers. (See 'Additional Terms' for environmental exclusions).

Vandal Resistant

This level offers robust security for public environments where casual vandalism is a concern.

• Construction: 12-Gauge Stainless Steel.
• Locking System: Utilizes an exposed padlock or a keyed cylinder lock.
• Warranty Coverage: Protects against individuals attempting to pry the unit open or cause damage using only their bare hands, feet, or body. This warranty level does not cover damage from any kind of tool.

Tamper Resistant

This level is designed for high-traffic locations where durability against heavy use and incidental abuse is the primary concern, rather than concerted vandalism.

• Construction: 14-Gauge or 16-Gauge Stainless Steel.
• Warranty Coverage: Includes a functional warranty that protects against heavy use and incidental abuse. The distinction is intent: this covers damage from someone aggressively trying to get supplies (e.g., yanking on a dispenser) but not from someone deliberately trying to destroy the property (e.g., hitting it with a bat or kicking it repeatedly).

General Exclusions From All Warranties

Our products are engineered for exceptional durability, but no product is indestructible. This warranty does not extend to damage caused by the use of heavy-duty tools or extreme force. The following are explicitly excluded from all warranty coverage:

• Damage from large pry bars, hammers, bats, or sledgehammers.
• Damage from power tools (e.g., grinders, drills).
• Damage from bolt cutters or other significant tools of destruction.

For damage not covered under warranty, we offer repair services at a reasonable cost. Please contact us for an assessment.

Warranty Coverage by Product Type

12-Gauge Products (Vandal Proof / Vandal Resistant)

All 12-gauge products carry a limited 10-year warranty. The specific level of anti-vandalism coverage—Vandal Proof (covering basic hand tools) or Vandal Resistant (covering hands only)—is determined by the locking mechanism used. Please refer to the definitions above. To be covered, the product must be installed with specified mounting hardware and locked during use. Cosmetic damage such as surface scratches is not covered.

14-Gauge & 16-Gauge Products (Tamper Resistant)

Our Tamper Resistant products feature a functional warranty against defects, heavy use, and incidental abuse. 14-gauge products are covered for 5 years, and 16-gauge products are covered for 2 years. This coverage ensures functionality under heavy use but excludes concerted vandalism and cosmetic issues.

Special Warranty Categories

304L Stainless Steel Products

Guaranteed against corrosion failure in freshwater environments. If corrosion-related deterioration occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced at our discretion.

316L Stainless Steel Products

Covered against corrosion failure in saltwater or marine environments under the same repair-or-replace policy.

Vandal Resistant Mirrors

Utilize a sacrificial polycarbonate layer designed to absorb vandalism damage. While the polycarbonate itself is not covered under warranty, minor repairs can be performed with a hand torch, and replacement polycarbonate can be purchased as needed.

• Tamper Resistant
  • 14-Gauge (304L/316L): 5-year Functional Warranty (Heavy Use & Incidental Abuse) + Corrosion Warranty.
  • 16-Gauge (304L/316L): 2-year Functional Warranty (Heavy Use & Incidental Abuse) + Corrosion Warranty.

Additional Terms

The warranty guarantees continued functionality but not cosmetic appearance. Products must be installed according to specification sheets, using recommended hardware and secured with locks. Vandal Stop Products will determine whether to repair or replace a unit covered under warranty. Return shipping costs are covered, but labor costs for removal and reinstallation are not. The warranty does not cover stolen products unless theft-proof hardware was used.

Correctional Facility Exclusion: In high-security settings such as prisons, jails, or correctional institutions, the extreme nature of access and intent means that while a product may be designed for this environment, the anti-vandalism portion of the warranty is void. The base functional warranty against manufacturing defects remains in effect, but damage inflicted by occupants is not covered.

Mechanical and electrical components sourced from suppliers, such as plastic dispensing mechanisms or clutch bearings, are not covered under the warranty. Repairs or replacements for these components are available at the customer’s expense.

Limitation of Liability

Vandal Stop’s liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of defective products under the terms of this warranty. We are not responsible for any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of revenue, or damage to property, arising from the use or inability to use our products.

Conditions of Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, you must provide proof of purchase and evidence of the issue (e.g., photos of the defect or damage). All claims must be submitted within 30 days of discovering the issue. For instructions on how to file a claim, please contact our customer service team.

Exclusion of Unapproved Modifications or Repairs

This warranty will be considered void if the product has been modified, repaired, or altered in any way not authorized by Vandal Stop. Unauthorized modifications or repairs can compromise the integrity of the product and invalidate coverage under this warranty.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of California and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. By purchasing and using our products, you agree to these terms and conditions as outlined.

Right to Revise Warranty Terms

Vandal Stop reserves the right to modify or update this warranty policy at any time without prior notice. Please review the warranty terms periodically to ensure you have the most current information.
