Company History
Three Generations. One Mission.
From the European Theater of WWII to the public parks of Northern California, the Vandal Stop legacy is built on a simple principle: Service.
The Origin: Born in a Maintenance Shop
Founder: Curtis C. Bailey (1951-2015)
Vandal Stop Products was founded by Curtis Bailey, a man who spent his life on the front lines of public service. In 1973, after serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, Curt returned home to Chico, California, and began a 32-year career with the City of Chico Park Department.
As a Park Supervisor, Curt faced a daily battle against vandalism. Every morning, he had to repair what had been destroyed the night before: smashed mirrors, ripped-off soap dispensers, and broken fixtures. He realized that the standard commercial products available on the market were simply not built to survive the reality of public use.
He got tired of replacing the same things twice.
In 1982, Curt partnered with his father to solve this problem. Using his garage as a workshop, he engineered the first heavy-duty, 12-gauge stainless steel fixtures designed specifically to withstand abuse. He didn't just build them to look good; he built them to last. That ingenuity launched a company that now protects facilities across the nation.

Aerospace Precision & Military Discipline
President: Robert T. Adamis
The mission continues today under the leadership of Curtis's nephew, Robert Adamis. Robert brought a new level of technical expertise to the family business, blending the company's rugged heritage with high-level engineering.
Robert is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Before taking the helm at Vandal Stop, he served as a commissioned officer in the USAF, where "failure is not an option."
His military career included serving as an Operations Analyst for the testing of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15E Strike Eagle, and F-22 Raptor fighter aircraft. Following his time in the Air Force, he worked for Lockheed Martin on the Navy's Trident II D5 Missile Program.
Today, Robert applies that same aerospace rigor to Vandal Stop products. We don't just bend metal; we engineer solutions that meet strict ADA compliance and withstand extreme force, ensuring that our founder's legacy of durability meets modern standards of precision.

The Foundation of Grit
Partner: Thorson "Tom" Bailey (1924-2015)
The work ethic that defines Vandal Stop began with Thorson Bailey. Growing up during the Great Depression and serving in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater of WWII, "Tom" understood the value of a dollar and the importance of integrity.
Tom joined his son Curt as a partner in 1982, bringing decades of business wisdom to the young company. He was the moral compass of the operation, instilling the core values that we still operate by today: Integrity, Honesty, and Quality.
Until his passing in 2015, Tom ensured that every customer was treated with respect and that every product shipping out the door met his high standards. We continue to honor his memory by running the business exactly the way he would have wanted.
