Public restrooms are those places that are often not thought about until you are in desparate need of one. The purpose of this blog is to highlight interesting facilities and to give them a "flushy" rating to provide a humours look at America's public facilities.

The Oregon Caves were an absolute treat to visit. We stayed at the lodge that was built in the 1930s to house tourists of the cave. The lobby bathroom was like a delightful walk back in time.

The Chateau hotel room that we stayed in had an on suite bathroom and though it isn't a traditional public bathroom, I thought I would take some pictures anyway. Very old school but in good condition.

Needing to stock up on ice we stopped at this local country store. I suspect they make more money selling ice than anything else! Their flush toilets were a welcome site after using pit toilets!

Visiting Crater Lake in Oregon was a mind blowing experience. The natural beauty of the lake is just amazing! The visitor center bathroom I found to be much less inspiring though clean and functional.

At a second stop at Crater Lake there was at the trail head for the overlook tower. The hike up was a bit steep but well worth the view. This outhouse was in the parking lot and was very clean.

Due to the heat and lack of water we moved to Eagle View Camp Ground at the top of Lake Trinity. Tucked between multiple streams it was a welcome relief to the heat.

When it comes to your local bar and grill, a messy bathroom can be a common theme. Keeping up on bathroom cleanliness in a busy environment like a bar can be difficult because of high traffic.

Outhouses are one of those necessary evils when camping in group campgrounds. Outhouses or "pit-toilets" are not the most pleasant of facilities to have to visit.

The first thing one sees at the Oregon Caves is this outbuilding in the parking lot. The caves themselves are up the road but you must get an orientation by rangers near this out building.

Porta-Pottys generally speaking are the lowest on the totem pole when it comes to bathroom experiences. They tend to be hot, smelly, dirty and just overall not very pleasant!
